THE "EYE PHONE"
I used the "evil eye" design to represent that technology is indeed evil, and is slowly taking over our world. I also made the eyeball itself blue to symbolize that we are encouraging technology to be present in our society.
My handheld project was inspired by the idea that technology is watching us and that it cannot always be trusted. The eye is meant to symbolize that our phone cameras are watching us. This piece also represents the fact that as electronic devices become more widespread, we are slowly morphing into a world run by technology.

The "handheld" part of this piece is the eyeball. I used underglaze to make the eyes appear bloodshot and tired from staring at a phone screen. The eye rests perfectly in the camera lens, and is glossy and smooth to the touch.
