FAIRY HUT CREAM & SUGAR SET
This set was created using terracotta clay so my options for color were slightly limited. I initially visualized this piece with bright colors but instead I made the color scheme more uniformed and simplistic.
My "Cream & Sugar Set" was inspired by a whimsical fairy hut. This piece played a little homage to my childhood because I used to make small little fairy houses out of shoeboxes and cardboard.
In this project especially I payed ample attention to detail. I carved out each of the stones on the sugar piece, and hand-painted each of the blue and gold designs onto my cream piece.

My original sketch included a very bright and colorful color palette, which I wasn't able to carry out in my actual piece. I also decided to steer away from a more "fantasy" feeling piece, and instead, decided to make it more elegant and mature looking (to represent my growth from child to teenager).
I also very much enjoyed this project because I had the opportunity to use the potters wheel for the first time. Although, I ended up hand building in the end, I feel like I have a better knowledge on how to make a piece on the wheel.
