EMILY ROGO

Hi, my name is Emily Rogo and I am an Advanced Clay student. Art in general can be perceived differently by each individual person, which is why my main goal as an artist is to embody themes that all people can understand and relate to. I enjoy making pieces that forces the viewer to think about the deeper meaning, and not just what is evident on the surface. I aspire to always make art that not only inspires people, but changes their outlook on life. Many of my best pieces derived from very real aspects and experiences in my own life, and this makes each and every one of my creations unique to me. During the process of creating art, I tend to select materials that I feel will be most suitable to convey my desired overarching theme. For me, color is the detail that I spend the most time considering. No two pieces I have created this year are alike, and I was able to use color to clearly differentiate between my creepy, whimsical, and simplistic pieces. Reflecting on the processes of each of my pieces, I feel most proud of the strategic choices and risks I took that made my art come out in a way that was better than I ever could have imagined.
